Forestry Mulching

Single-pass clearing. No haul-off.

▦ Placeholder · Forestry Mulching

Forestry mulching is one machine doing the whole job in one pass. The drum head takes the stem, the stump, and the root collar and grinds all of it in place. Material in the 15-inch class goes down and stays down. What's left is a mulch blanket that suppresses regrowth, holds the soil through Gulf South rain, and feeds organic matter back into the ground. No burn pile, no haul-off, no follow-up debris contract. Straight talk: if the ground is already under control, a bush hog is the right tool. Maintenance wants a bush hog. Mulching is for recovery, ground the brush has already taken back. Pasture reclamation, fence lines, shooting lanes and food plots on hunting leases, pathways cut so a realtor can actually show the property.

Production rate

~2 acres/day or more in light vegetation. ~1 acre/day or more in heavy vegetation. Pace depends on terrain and access.

Optimal job size

Sweet spot: 10–200 acres. Bigger works too: multi-day and multi-week windows are normal at that scale. Smaller works as well, as long as access supports the lowboy.

Terrain

Tracked carriers around 3 psi ground pressure run on soils where dozers sink. Bottomland hardwood, pine flatwoods, cutover, swamp edges, riverbank: all in scope.

Equipment

Big iron.
Production-grade.

The right tool for the job. Always sized up.

Process

Same every time.
Predictable on site.

Site walk. Mobilize. Execute. Walk off.

  1. 01

    Site Walk

We walk the property with you, on the ground or by drone. Acreage, terrain, access, wet spots, utility crossings, trees you want kept, and the finish you actually want. The quote comes from the walk, not a satellite guess.

  2. 02

    Mobilization

Equipment lowboys in. 811 locates called and cleared before any ground-engaging work: Louisiana 811, Texas 811, or Mississippi 811, depending on where the job sits. SWPPP and erosion control set on industrial sites. COI, named-additional-insured, and waiver-of-subrogation endorsements issued on request.

  3. 03

    Execution

The iron does the work: our forestry mulcher, excavators, and dozers as the job calls for. Daily check-ins. Drone progress shots on jobs over 5 acres. Daily SWPPP inspection on industrial sites.

  4. 04

    Walk-Off

Demobilize, restore the staging areas, final walk with you or your rep. Drone before/after package on jobs over 5 acres. Invoice when you sign off, not before.

Questions

Forestry Mulching.
Answered before the call.

Bidding questions, terrain questions, insurance questions: asked and answered.

How is forestry mulching different from bush hogging?
A bush hog trims the stem at the surface, and the root collar pushes it right back. That's maintenance, and it's the right call on ground that's already under control. A mulcher grinds the stem, the stump, and the root collar, so regrowth comes back slow and thin while the mulch blanket holds the soil. Maintenance wants a bush hog. Recovery wants a mulcher.
Can you clear under power lines or along pipeline ROW?
Yes. Right-of-way work is one of our four primary lanes. We run cycle-maintenance work for high-line and pipeline ROW. See the Right-of-Way Clearing service for the corridor details.
What about hunting properties, shooting lanes, food plots?
A favorite use case. We thread mulchers through hardwood-pine mix without touching mature canopy, cut shooting lanes 6–10 feet wide, open food plots in clearings, and connect them with interior trail loops. Drone before/after delivered on jobs over 5 acres.
Can you mulch wet ground?
Often, yes. Tracked carriers around 3 psi ground pressure work soils that bog a dozer. But Gulf South gumbo clay after a wet stretch will swallow anything. We walk the site first, and if the ground is truly saturated we'll tell you straight and schedule for when it dries.
What states do you cover?
South Louisiana is primary (Acadiana, Baton Rouge corridor, Lake Charles, Northshore, New Orleans metro, central LA). East Texas through Tyler / Longview / Lufkin and into the Houston metro reach. South Mississippi below the red line (601/769/228). NW LA, NE LA, north MS, and south AL/AR for bigger jobs.
How fast can you mobilize?
Landowner work typically books within the same week once the quote is signed. Utility and industrial operator windows get scheduled around your timeline. Tell us the window and we plan the lowboy moves to hit it. June through November we keep slack in the schedule for storm response.
Are you insured?
$1M general liability, with options to increase per job requirements. Bondable. Ask for a COI and it's in your inbox within 24 hours.
Do you publish pricing?
No. Every job gets bid off the walk: acreage, terrain, target finish, access, and timing all move the number. Call or send a property pin and we'll walk it together. You get a straight quote from the operator, not a price sheet.
